Implementation models

Three models adapted to the hospital's digital maturity

Standalone operation, EHR integration, or real-time physical tracking. The right model depends on the infrastructure and the pilot's goals.

Co-financing

Co-financing pathways

Implementation may be partially covered by national programmes (PRR, PT2030) and European ones (Digital Europe Programme, Horizon Europe). Eligibility depends on the specific programme, the institution type, and the project scope.

Validation

Current validation status

WardControl is in clinical validation with partner institutions of the Portuguese NHS. The first formal pilots start in 2026 with university hospitals and ULSs in Lisbon, Almada, and Setúbal.

The founding team is composed of physicians in active clinical practice:

  • Dr. Hugo ViegasInternal Medicine, ULS Arrábida
  • Dr. Gonçalo MendesInternal Medicine and Intensive Care, HFAR
  • Dr. David TomásGastroenterology Resident, ULS Arrábida

The technical architecture was designed and built by the founding team over 2 years. It is currently undergoing full technical verification under the coordination of Eng. José Pimentel, integrating CTO.
